LED how to do the heat dissipation?

LED is sensitive to temperature, and its performance is greatly influenced by ambient temperature. It is mainly shown in the following three aspects:


1. the high temperature of the junction will lead to a decline in the performance of LED, especially the service life, light quality and lumen output. If the temperature exceeds the rated maximum junction temperature and the working temperature increases by 10 degrees, the life of LED will drop by 30% to 50%.


2. when the node temperature rises, it will also lead to obvious bleaching in the direction of high spectral wavelength (wavelength becoming longer), which has great influence on the "white light" LED light source. Most of the so-called "white light" LED actually emits blue light, which is converted into white light through the transformation of phosphor. When the temperature rises, the blue light will drift towards the red spectrum and change with the function of the phosphor. The result is that the color of the final light will change.


3. the last major parameter affected by the LED thermal management system is lumen output. Increasing the current can increase the lumen output of LED, but the high current will also lead to increased heat. Therefore, when determining the current value, an optimal balance must be selected between the system performance and the service life.
